St John of God Hospital Subiaco are gradually upgrading suites across the hospital, giving OFP the opportunity to bring fresh design concepts tailored to each tenant’s needs and preferences. Suite C202 reflects a carefully considered design by our Senior Designer Angela who was informed in the initial briefing that patients visiting this suite often feel anxious and unsettled. Iin order to put patient experience first, Angela introduced a calming green accent throughout the space specifically to detail the psychology of colour. Being associated with nature, green is known to evoke feelings of calm and balance making it a perfect choice for a medical waiting room and reception. Custom joinery, bespoke wallpaper, furniture and carpet were combined to create a welcoming atmosphere that aimed to reduce stress and increase relaxation for both patients and staff. The result is a modern, soothing space that has been warmly received by the doctors, their team and returning patients.
